1000 Whispers From Our Future is an immersive art experience that invites the public into the work through the power of their imagination.

The piece centers around a multi-channel sound and song performance that ascends visitors from the confines of our physical reality, into the ever expanding ether of our imagination and spirit.

The art exhibit presents Painting, Sculpture, and Visual projections that tell the arc of the composition in physical form.

As the project continues to grow, there are plans to expand the scope of work including a creative audio and storytelling curriculum taught inside Prisons.

The project first debuted at Audium Theater as part of Pat Mesiti-Miller’s 2025-26 Artist Residency. The Art Exhibit and Performance ran for 2 months, selling out the final 4 weekends of the show.

Woven together experimental sound and song,
the multi-channel composition pulls from my 10+ years of work inside California prisons.
The harsh sounds of concrete create the confining sonic walls governing american life as the US carceral system is identified as an extension of the country’s foundational violence.
A continuation in the long history of imperial projects that attempts to separate the person from their community, the land, and ultimately, the spirit.

this work explores the abolitionist principle:
as we dismantle systems of harm and oppression, we must also imagine new ways and worlds of being, and join in building them together.

These recordings become the basis for an instrument I designed to play the whispers throughout performance.

In a time where it is increasingly difficult to see beyond the confines of our physical reality,
this work invites the public to engage with the art directly and contribute offerings from their own imaginations

The whispers become guides as they float over gritty textures, materialize, and expand before returning to the echoic ether. Woven together through experimental sound and song, this composition guides the listener through three realms:
The Realm of the Concrete
The Realm of Transcendence
and
The Realm of Spirit.

Central to the performance is a collection of whispers recorded during a series of community visioning events where participants are asked to share their visions of a new world.
