Pat Mesiti-Miller is an Artist and Audio Producer based in Oakland, CA. known for his inventive storytelling and immersive sound design, Pat blends fantasy and documentary elements to explore deeper truths.

Pat Mesiti-Miller is an Oakland-based artist, audio producer, and educator whose work centers storytelling, sound, and collective imagination. For more than a decade, he has worked inside California prisons, most notably at San Quentin State Prison, where he helped launch the Peabody- and Pulitzer Prize-nominated podcast Ear Hustle alongside incarcerated collaborators. From 2016 to 2020, he served as a producer and sound designer and led sound-design training in the prison’s media lab, helping create opportunities for incarcerated people to develop their own skills and tell their own stories.

His prison-based work extends beyond Ear Hustle, including work with the training program and podcast Uncuffed, production, workshops, and collaborations with incarcerated artists and storytellers. He has also worked on projects documenting life inside prison, including Friendly Signs, a documentary about ASL at San Quentin, as well as creating a re-entry program that trained formerly incarcerated participants into jobs in live sound and event production.

In 2024 he worked with the San Quentin Film Festival to realize the first ever film festival held within a prison, spotlighting currently and formerly incarcerated filmmakers and bridging connection between industry professionals, brining the festival to Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla in 2026.

He continues his work in education, community building, and creative arts healing practices through his love of sound, love of people, and deep commitment to our liberated future.
